Controlling the future of electrification…

Each industry is witnessing an ever increasing level of automation and control of electro-mechanical systems and Infinite System Design, through the technical partnership with Drive System Design, has the in-house capabilities to support the development of controllers for a wide range of projects, be it a single actuator or multiple-speed transmission for automotive, marine or aerospace applications.

Infinite System Design has extensive experience in model based control software development, system functional safety analysis and requirements management with expertise in powershift transmission management.

Projects successfully delivered so far include control systems designed for DCT, AT, AMT and electric transmission systems, including customised algorithms for self learn and calibration with integrated thermal models.

Tools and processes such as HiL, SiL and MiL can be utilised with advanced plant model development and rig validation functions including functional safety.

Dynamic simulations work with the controller tuning, testing and validation to analyse system response.

Case Study: Planetary Transmission Control & Calibration

Utilising Drive System Designs, ‘Infinite Control’ software suite Drive System Design added a planetary transmission controller to an existing transmission platform. Initially the controller bypass capability was validated on a 3E test rig, then the software architecture was defined and the software designed to meet the customer functional and safety requirements with vehicle network integration. The automatic transmission was successfully commissioned and released for customer drive events.

Case Study: Hybrid Supervisory Control

A hybrid supervisory controller was developed for a new vehicle platform by our technical partners, Drive System Design. The vehicle supervisory controller development took into account vehicle/system level requirements along with software requirements. Design and validation was carried out in MiL (Model in the loop) and HiL (Hardware in the loop). Vehicle functional development was carried out. The software was integrated with ECU, MCU and other vehicle systems.
