Data Analysis

We understand data…

Infinite System Design has a proven history of analysing large data sets for numerous engineering sectors both in academia and industry, providing insights into data that has supported large commercial projects and published journal papers.

Infinite System Design understands attaining a large amount of data is only half the battle, analysing the data and pulling out key information to aid the customers business is the real goal. Through analysing data sets for a variety of engineering projects we have a strong understanding of how to manipulate data and provide insights that can help the customer make data driven decisions on how to inform the design process, modify a current product or a future products design.

With large data sets it is difficult to see key information in tabular form, being able to graphically represent large data sets allows a user to more easily see key trends, relationships between parameters and the effect parameters/disturbances have on a system. Infinite System Design are experts in this field, developing advanced clear graphical illustrations of data permitting you to make clear conclusions from your data.

Case Study: Physical System Simulation Data Analysis

Infinite System Design supported Drive System Design in the development of a tool to provide key insights into results from physical system models, in this case for an electric vehicle development program. Important system metrics were automatically outputted into a report and plotted post simulation to understand how each design iteration was performing. Operating points were visualised providing key information to the design team when developing each powertrain component. Automating data analysis speeds up the design process and reduces project costs.

Case Study: Electric Powertrain Optimisation Data Analysis

Infinite System Design with Drive System Design utilised in-house data analysis skills and software to analyse a multi-degree optimisation problem to select the optimal powertrain for an electric vehicle. When dealing with numerous DoE (Design of Experiment) factors it is a challenge to pull out key information. Infinite System Design developed bespoke data visualisation scripts to identify the optimal solution and pull out key factors leading to improved system efficiency which aided future design choices. Gaining key insights into data early on saves time in the costly detailed design phase.
