Concept Design
During the concept design stage simulation tools are utilised to carry out a macro-optimisation of a system over a given duty cycle and provide data driven input into initial motor/mechanical design concepts.
Detailed Design
Motor designs are developed in MotorCAD considering target requirements and thermal loading, bespoke inverters can also be designed in-house. Infinite System Design, through the technical partnership with Drive System Design, are experts in transmission and gear design, optimised systems for multiple applications are designed in-house targeting key packaging, NVH and load criteria using MASTA and FEA. If the application requires a controller, for a transmission or actuator, the software and hardware can be created in-house to suit customer needs. Advanced models of physical systems can be developed to tune and analyse controller performance.
Prototype and build
We have the capability to build prototype motors and transmission systems in-house ensuring the level of engineering quality in the design phase is seen through to prototype testing.
Verification and Testing
An extensive testing facility is available in the UK to customers for testing motors over duty cycles and tuning inverter control strategies. Transmission systems can also be tested to ensure they meet customer needs over duty cycles, considering failure modes, thermal testing, NVH and hot/cold testing. Control systems can be tested through SiL, HiL or on the application in house to tune control strategies developed in simulation.
Data Analysis
Infinite System Design have extensive experience in data analysis of large data sets to pull out trends and provide advanced graphical illustrations which help customers make informed data driven decisions.
