gearing up for the future…
Infnite System Design, through the technical partnership with Drive System Design, has significant industry experience in electric drive transmission projects, specialising in low-noise, refinement and efficiency.
Various transmission systems can be designed from concept through to prototype testing including parallel axis gears, planetary systems, manual transmission, AMT, DCT and multiple-speed transmissions. Axle systems including spiral, bevel and hypoid with torque vectoring for high torque or low voltage applications.
Transmission systems are designed in MASTA with gear teeth analysis in FEA. System NVH can be analysed along with thermal and cooling through lumped parameter modelling or particle FEA.

Case Study: Low NVH Electric Vehicle Transmission
Our technical partners, Drive System Design designed a transmission for an electric powertrain where due to the low power source noise good NVH is key. Through in-house expertise a transmission was designed with gear geometry to meet the durability requirements whilst exceeding NVH expectations. The transmission also came in under target mass through intelligent case design with integrated cooling. Understanding and meeting the durability target is only half the battle, the engineer also needs to understand the environment it will work in.
Case Study: Worm Gear Design
Infinite System Design supported our technical partner, Drive System Design, in the design of a worm gear for a brake application reducing the size/weight by 30% whilst maintaining the strength required to carry out the specified duty cycle. The design was carried out in-house and verified via Finite Element Analysis. Infinite System Design have expertise to design helical gearsets, bevel gearsets, planetary gearsets, among others
